Walter's love for nature stemmed from a very young age. In school, he was member of the Nature Lover Club. Now his passion has developed into profession since joining the Community Elephant Ranger Team in Telupid under the Human Elephant Harmony project; a decision he made after elephants visited his village, Kg. Liningkung, in 2016.
