A Dusun who hails from Kg. Entilibon Asal, Tongod, Joannes currently serves as a Field Coordinator for Certified Sustainable Palm Oil (CSPO) in Tongod District for Forever Sabah. He holds a Certificate from the Agricultural Training Center in Ulu Dusun Sandakan, and is trained in Community Organizing by PACOS TRUST. He is also trained in community mapping and has worked as a Project Coordinator for Regional Network Indigenous Peoples (RNIP) under PACOS Trust and was a Field Assistant for a Social Impact Assessment for Sabah Forest Industries (SFI).
